Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre is seeking passionate and experienced Teaching Artists to join our educational team. Teaching Artists at TCT are responsible for designing and implementing high-quality theatrical instruction that inspires creativity, builds confidence, and develops performance skills in students of all ages.
Position Details:
- Position Type: Part-time, contract-based
- Schedule: Afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with additional opportunities during school breaks and summer
- Location: TCT Studio and various locations throughout Tuscaloosa

- Tap Dance

- Audition Preparation
- General Musical Theatre
- Stage Management
- Costuming
- Technical Theatre
Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach age-appropriate curriculum in your area(s) of expertise
- Create a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages student growth
- Collaborate with TCT staff to align class content with program goals
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate regularly with program director
- Participate in showcase performances and student evaluations as needed
- Attend faculty meetings and professional development sessions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in theatre, dance, music, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience in a classroom or studio setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more theatrical disciplines
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt teaching methods to various learning styles
- Experience working with children and youth in educational settings
- Professional performance experience preferred
- Current background check required
